Introduction & method

Our infatuation with air fryers continues, this time with a simple recipe for pork chops and honey mustard sauce. Air fryer pork chops are juicy, delicious and simple to make. And you can roast some spuds and other veg at the same time.

Air Fryer Pork Chops with Honey Mustard Sauce Recipe

Prep the Pork Chops

Lightly spray the chops with oil and season with salt and pepper. You might want to add some extra flavour by sprinkling with sage, thyme or oregano. Alternatively you can get a bit more exotic by using a rub of smoked paprika, chilli or piri piri spice mix.

Cook the Pork Chops

Heat your airfryer to 180°C (356°F). Use the same temperature for a fan/convection oven, or 200°C (392°F) for a conventional one, or gas 6. Place the chops in the airfryer and cook for 8-10 minutes. Turn over and cook the other side for 8-10 minutes. Place on a warmed plate, tent with foil and leave to rest for about 10 minutes. The chops should reach at least 63° C (145° F) and stay at that temperature for 3 minutes or more.

Make the Sauce

Melt the butter in a small saucepan on medium-low heat. Stir in the flour and mix to form a smooth paste. Cook for a minute then add the milk and cook until thickened. Stir in the honey and mustard. Taste for seasoning.

Serve the chops and sauce with roast potatoes or mash and the vegetables of your choice.
